Where is the office located?

My office is in the building is at the corner of Russell Parkway and Rusty Road, across the street from Direct Insurance, and behind Atomic Tattoo.

Where do I park?
Parking is available right in front of the building.
What are your office hours?
My office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
How long is a typical session?
You have a choice. Sessions are either 30 minutes or 60 minutes, depending on your availability.
What do I do to get started – make an appointment?

To get started, it is as easy as picking up the phone – (478) 353-6820.

What is the hourly fee?
My hourly fee varies based on the payer’s source (co-pay, insurance, or self-pay).
How do I pay?

Payment opportunities vary. We accept payments by cash, credit/debit, Paypal, or cash app. There is a $25.00 deposit at the time of scheduling the appointment.

You pay the remaining balance before beginning the session.

Are there other things I should know about your office?
My office is small, intimate, and tucked in a corner. It is right off Russell Parkway, the main street, for ease and convenience and “tucked away” to ensure your privacy. Please ensure to bring proper ID, driver license, Military ID, or State ID.
Can I cancel an appointment?
Yes, we understand things happen. Things can change in a moment.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is that you can cancel up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. Same-day cancellations will forfeit the $25.00 deposit.
What is a free initial phone consultation?
Our telephone consultations are 15-20 minutes in length. During the consultation, we talk about what you would like to accomplish in session, and we begin to develop a relationship. If there are any questions or concerns, feel free to ask them during the consultation.
Who is your perfect client?
The perfect client wants help to get out of pain and is willing to do the work.
With what age range do you work?
I work with adults 25 and older. I work with adults individually or in group sessions.
Are you LGBTQIA friendly?
Yes, I am LGBTQIA friendly. PTSD, Anxiety, and substance abuse are all equal opportunity issues. I am here to help.
What can I expect in the first session?
We will complete all the required documents in our first session, and you will get a copy. Then, we will sit and talk about you, your issues, and how they affect your quality of life. We also will discuss what you would like to accomplish in our sessions.
What is therapy like with you?
Clients tell me that therapy with me is like sitting down and talking to an old friend. There is no judgment, just a supportive ear to unload and address the issues.
How long will I be in therapy?
Therapy is an individualized treatment approach. Your length in therapy is something we can discuss in our consultation or first session. The length of time will depend on the type of therapy you choose.
Does anyone cry in front of you?
We both cry because crying is not unusual, but I won’t tell if you don’t
Do I have to tell you everything?
In our therapy sessions, you can tell me what makes you comfortable saying until you feel like telling me more.
Who benefits from therapy?
During therapy, the participant finds out how strong they are. As the therapist, I walk with the client, providing support as each goes through the process. So, I guess the short answer is both of us.
How do you work with clients?
Each client is an individual. It is important to start where the client is when you walk in the door. We talk first, and we work together.
Is there anyone you won't see?
I will not see sexual predators.
What can a therapist do?
As a therapist, it is my job to walk with my client on their journey and present a different perspective because a second eye has proven helpful.
What is CBT?
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that is effective for a range of problems, including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol, drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness.
What is CPT?

Cognitive-Processing Therapy (CPT) is a specific type of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy that helps reduce symptoms of PTSD developed after experiencing a variety of traumatic events, including child abuse, combat, rape, and natural disasters.

What are the risks and benefits of doing therapy?
Therapy is like riding a roller coaster; the risk is that it makes a person think about self, choices, and that is painful sometimes. The benefit is once you walk through that pain – it’s done.
Do you offer video or phone sessions?
My office does offer video or face-to-face sessions. I guess I am old school.
What kind of groups do you have in your practice?
Right now, I am not able to provide group sessions, but they are in the plans.
What else can I try to help me help myself?
Be prepared and stay fluid because it could be a bumpy ride.
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
When a person finds the right therapist, there is an ease in communication. One of two things will happen – you feel better when you leave the session or leave the session thinking.
Are you a Christian counselor?
I do not have training as a Christian Counselor.
Is our work confidential?

There are certain things required to be reported by law. Laws in all 50 states require a therapist to contact authorities if a patient is a danger to him/herself, to others, and/or if the therapist suspects that a known child is being abused.

How long have you been in practice?
I have been in private practice for a little less than a year. Before that, I have over 30 years working for various for-profit, non-profit, and government agencies.
What are your strengths as a therapist?
Clients tell me that I am straightforward, honest, and sincere.
What do you enjoy about being a therapist?
I enjoy helping people to achieve the goals that brought them to therapy.
What is your educational background?
I started college at 17 years old; it was too early. I served in the United States Navy, and while serving, I earned my Associates’s degree in Workforce Curriculum development. I then enrolled at the University of North Florida and earned a bachelor’s in education. I continued school and enrolled in the University of North Florida’s Master’s program for Counselor Education.

I do not prescribe medication.
Are you licensed?
Yes, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia since 2016 and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida since 2002.
Do you take notes?
I do take notes during the session because they help for accuracy.
